ACCOUNT & PROFILE

Sign up and register as a company. Once you register, you will receive an email notification to confirm your registration. (*If you don't receive it, check your junk/spam folder and add Essential Hiring to your safe sender list). Once you confirm your registration, you can log back in and begin creating your profile.

Yes. You need to complete your profile in full. By completing your profile in full, you maximize the job candidates that may be eligible and qualified for your opportunities.

We have three options for companies:

Option 1: FREE This option has limited capabilities, and only allows companies to post jobs, but does not provide access to qualified and available job candidates.

Option 2: SUBSCRIBED COMPANY Companies will have the ability to post jobs on our system and hire qualified and available job candidates. Companies will be able to do this on their own or with the assistance of an Essential Hiring account manager.

Option 3: ONE-TIME HIRES Companies that require last minute or emergency hiring can access this option. This option is provided at a higher rate. For more detailed information, please contact an Account Manager at info@essentialhiring.com

Should you no longer require our service you can simply email your account representative and they will be more than happy to discuss your options.

PROFILES & PRE-SCREENING

Yes. All candidates are pre-screened before they’re profile goes live and only those who have passed our pre-screening job can get access to available jobs and shifts.

Due to the current situation, pre-screening may be done in person (with social distancing practices in place) or via skype, zoom or other video chat. Pre-screening may take place over several in-person/online sessions, depending on the role and responsibilities job candidates are interested in. Pre-screening consists of one or several interviews, followed by a verification process during which any required experience, skills, training, licenses and/or certifications are confirmed.

JOBS & APPLICATIONS

Once you are registered and have created your company profile with our account representative you will be prompted to post a job if you have any that need to be filled. In addition, Essential Hiring can assist in your on going needs to fill the job position you need filled during your business hours.

Shifts must be a minimum of 4 hours a day. The maximum number of hours is 12 hours on one shift with a 44-hour weekly maximum, billed accordingly based on the negotiated terms.

It depends. If candidates matching your job’s eligibility and availability are in our candidate database, you will receive notifications immediately. Otherwise you will receive notifications as soon as qualified candidates are available.

You will receive email notifications every time a new candidate is matched to your job while your job remains active. Once your available job or shifts have been accepted and filled, you will no longer receive notifications. In addition if you are requiring a high volume of employees our account representative will also assist in ensuring your schedule needs are met.

No. One of the many benefits of using our platform is that you do not have to conduct interviews. All of that has been done for you, by us. Not only will this save you a lot of time and effort, but you’ll also be able to assess your candidate’s performance while they’re on the job.

Once your company or Essential Hiring posts shifts, email notifications will go out to those matching the job details and requirements. The more candidates that match your job, the faster the job will be filled. This also encourages job candidates to accept or decline the job or shifts as soon as possible.

Currently, we are serving the Eastern Ontario region, including Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Kingston and Ottawa. If you are within Ontario, please reach out to us in the event that we can also accommodate your staffing needs.

Once a candidate has accepted your job or shift, you can send a message to the candidate through the Essential Hiring platform. However, please remember, when cancelling jobs or shifts at short notice, please Contact Us directly.

Yes, companies can post as many jobs as they need to fill directly on the Essential Hiring platform.

Yes, you can work for other hiring platforms or agencies while also using Essential Hiring, but hopefully, you won’t need to! Our goal is to provide you with all of your staffing and employment needs, under one roof.

Yes, our platform can be used to hire permanent full-time roles based on your needs. We will work closely with your company to find the best suitable match in such cases.

Yes, as part of your account and profile, you will have your very own go-to list where you can add candidates you wish to shortlist for future opportunities. Your account representative will also help you hire the best candidates for your job.

INVOICES & PAYMENTS

Our billing is done manually, with the assistance of your Account Manager, as per the terms of your contract.

Invoices will be sent through our administrative department. Payments can be made by cheque or direct deposit.

If you notice an error on your invoice, simply contact us and we will take the necessary steps to resolve the issue.

All necessary municipal, provincial, and federal taxes will be charged accordingly to each invoice.

No. Essential Hiring is covered under commercial liability insurance, as well as the Workers Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).

CHANGES & CANCELLATIONS

Yes you can. It is also a good idea to communicate any changes to your Account Manager, so that any employees scheduled are notified promptly of the change or cancellation.

These terms would be negotiated prior to your company utilizing the platform. Should there be a need to decrease or increase the rate of pay this would be discussed with your company representative and Essential Hiring’s representative.

With the exception of sudden emergencies (in which case documentation may be required) all job candidates utilizing our platform are responsible to attend their shifts. If a job candidate is a no-show, Essential Hiring will take every necessary step to fill your roll as quickly as possible.

RATINGS & REVIEWS

After a job candidate’s shift(s) or first schedule is completed, you will be notified and reminded by email to rate and review their performance.
